Information You Submit
The address and owner-name fields pass what you enter to a third-party search provider that returns sponsored results. Barbour County Property Records does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. A message sent through a contact channel contains whatever details the sender chooses to include, which are used to answer that request.
Basic Server and Cookie Data
The hosting service records routine technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time. These logs help keep the reference online and show which pages visitors use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools where enabled.
How Submitted Data Is Used
Information is used to operate the site, reply to a message, fix a fault, measure general traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell a named visitor list or build individual profiles from searches stored on this site.
Links Beyond This Site
Pages link to Barbour County, West Virginia, library, archive, court, and records portals, as well as third-party search tools. Each outside service sets its own privacy terms. Any data entered on one of those sites is handled under that provider’s policy, including sponsored search results.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting vendors process technical logs to serve the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information may be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor list.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for the operating and measurement purposes described here. There are no visitor accounts, so this reference does not hold a site password or user profile.
Children Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal details from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information through a contact channel, use the contact page so the operator can review and remove it.
Your Information Requests
Because the site keeps little visitor information and no search account, there may be no stored profile to access or correct. Send a request through the contact page and identify the data or message at issue. West Virginia Code chapter 29B governs requests to public bodies for public records; it does not turn this private reference into a records custodian.
West Virginia Code §16-5-27 sets confidentiality rules for vital records held by the state or an issuing office. Birth records become public after 100 years; death, marriage, divorce, and related records after 50 years, subject to protected fields and current-copy eligibility rules. Those limits apply to the official record, not to data stored by this site.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this notice when the site’s tools, vendors, or data practices change. The updated date or revised text will appear here. Continued use after the change means the revised policy applies.
Questions about a privacy request can be sent through the Contact page.
